Sat. Sept. 24: Introduction to Focusing: A Mindfulness Practice for Enhancing Self Awareness & Self Care

Focusing is a mind-body awareness method that helps you find greater clarity and freedom from old emotional patterns.  It teaches us a mindful way to enter a special kind of awareness different from our everyday awareness – one that is in-the-moment, centered in the body’s sensations and open to its rich meanings.

This class will introduce you to some of the basic tenets of Focusing and give you an opportunity to practice important focusing skills. We will teach you how might use this gentle yet powerful process to find what is truly alive for you, relieve stress, develop more empathy for yourself and others, or touch into the spiritual dimension of your life.

This class is open to those new to Focusing and those with some experience.

Kelley Bothe LICSW, CGP, Certified Focusing Trainer, is a psychotherapist in private practice in Concord and Wellesley MA working with adults in individual therapy. Kelley also leads divorce support groups and teaches Focusing to small groups.

Cathy Cornell, LICSW, Certified Focusing Trainer, is a social worker and a Focusing-oriented psychotherapist in a private practice in Wellesley, MA.  She is a Certified Focusing Trainer and has taught Focusing to individuals and groups.  She also practices and studies Buddhism.
